The Bully, the Bullied, or the Bystander:
Parent / Community Presentation
Come and be enlightened about the newest trends and myths concerning bullying behaviors. This highly spirited and interactive parent/community presentation is for educators, parents and other community members. Participants will learn what is and what is not bullying. All will be educated on the impact of bullying behaviors, as well as be equipped with practical intervention strategies to help those students who are being victimized or who are participating in bullying behaviors. Victims of bullying behaviors carry emotional scars to adulthood. Parents have been given frequent and sometimes contradictory advice. Some experts suggest teaching your children to stand up for him/herself. Other sources espouse telling your child or teen to “just ignore” the bullying. This workshop will help you to determine a wide range of effective strategies one can use according to your individual situation. Cyber bullying including Snapchat, kik, Instagram, Vine and other free apps the kids are downloading will be discussed, as well as tips on how to keep kids safe online. Parent resources will be introduced & demonstrated.
